God Is For Me

Are you faced with challenges in your life right now? Do you know what God wants you to say? He wants you to say, “If God is for me, who can be against me?” (Romans 8:31-32)

Knowing that God is for you gives you the hometown advantage.

When a football team plays at home, they have an advantage because of all their fans and friends watching from the grandstand cheering them on. Just knowing that they have all those fans for them causes them to push a little harder. They put everything that they have in it.  They are determined that they will never give up and they will never quit.

Hebrews 12:1 (TLB)  Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down . . . and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.  . .

The writer of Hebrews had just written about all the great men of faith that have gone on before. He said they are in the grandstand of heaven cheering us on.  Just knowing that my dad, my granddad, my pastor and all those who have gone on to heaven are in the grandstand cheering me on gives me a determination to go on and finish my race. Not only are my loved ones for me but most important of all, God is for me!

One day Stephen was preaching and he looked up and said I see Jesus standing at the father’s right hand.  Jesus was not seated in the grandstand; he was on his feet he was cheering Stephen on.  When Stephen looked up and saw Jesus on his feet cheering him on he was not about to stop until he crossed the finish line.

I Believe when that prodigal son decides to come home, when that man or women who once walked with God but has been tempted of the devil and gone back into sin; When they make that decision, “ I’m going back to the father’s house” I believe the grandstand in heaven is full and no one is sitting. Everyone is on their feet cheering them on. Listen to me, friend. Your grandmother, your mother, all your love-ones who have gone on to be with the Lord are on your side, they are for you. Jesus is on his feet cheering you on He is for you. God is for you, and if God be for you there are not enough devils in hell to hold you back. There is nothing in this world to hold you back. If God be for you then who can be against you.

If God is for you right now, you do not have to moan, “If only I had this…If only I didn’t say that…” You do not have to worry about the future: “What if this happens…What if we don’t have enough…”

Regretting the past and worrying about the future will not change anything. Look to your heavenly Father instead. Because He is for you, you can be confident that He will help you and provide for you.

 Thought for the Day

All blessings are yours today because God is for you! God is on your side!

Confession: Father, I believe You are for me and not against me. I will be courageous. I will keep the faith and finish my course.  I cannot be defeated and I will never quit. God is for me and it makes no difference who is against me.

May God’s richest and best be yours,

Lanier Martin

    Choose Life

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19 NKJV)

In this world, you can experience life and blessing, or you can deal with death and cursing. The decision in yours.

The Bible tells us clearly it is our choice to receive either life or death, blessing or cursing. Then he tells us which one to choose. He said, “Choose life.”

Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Every blessing God has provided for us in Jesus is contingent on our decision to receive it. When Jesus asked a sick man In John 5, will you be made well?  He had a choice. He could say yes, he could say no, but what he said was I can’t. He said I have no one to put me in the pool. Jesus had to get the man’s eyes off the circumstances and on to him. Then the man was healed.

I do not know what challenge you may be facing today. You may be dealing with a health issue, a financial need, or the enemy may be trying to destroy your family. Remember that Jesus has already fought this battle for you. Now all you have to do is simply make the decision to win.

My advice?  Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.  However, no one can make that decision for you.  What you do with the gift of life that God has given you is really up to you.  How you live your life will reveal your decision. Of all the decisions you have to make in life, none is more important than this.  Life is short, precious, and sweet and you can choose how to live each day. The choice is yours.

The choice is obvious, but the choice is still yours.

Sometimes we cannot control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond and that gives us actual power and control over a situation.

Confession: I choose today to receive Life. I choose to receive God’s blessing. I am making the decision to walk in the light of life. I am making the decision to win.

May God’s richest and best be yours,

    Condemnation

Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. (Romans 8:1 AMP)

The devil uses guilt and condemnation in an attempt to drive a wedge between you and God so that he can keep you from walking in the love of God. The Holy Spirit will certainly convict us when we need to change something, but that is far different from condemnation.

When the Holy Spirit convicts us, we must repent. The word repent in the Bible means, “to change one’s mind” and this involves a turning from sin. It is as if you headed out for a drive down the freeway but you went down the wrong way and are now headed in the wrong lane and the traffic is now coming straight at you. You need to turn around and go the other way. That is what “repent” basically means. You are headed down the wrong way…the way to destruction …and you need to change your mind and turn around and go the other way.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) When God forgives us, we must forgive ourselves and go on with our lives. If we do not forgive ourselves the devil will lie and say things like “you are such a failure … God will never forgive you for what you did … you deserve just what you got … you’ll never amount to anything.” When the devil comes telling you these lies, Just say “I plead the blood that was shed on Calvary.”
Those who live under this kind of guilt and condemnation will often cease to trust in the blood of Jesus as the only means to come to God and receive His love, His grace, and His acceptance. If you allow it, condemnation will cause you to focus on your failures. It will rob you of your confidence in God, making Him seem distant and cold.

Tell the devil you will no longer accept his lies and condemnation.

Confession: God has forgiven me and I have forgiven myself. Now I am the righteousness of God in Christ. A brand new creation in Him.

May God’s richest and best be yours,
