I am sure every one of you has been wronged at one time or another. Because of this, we all have a decision to make. We can either hold a grudge against this person and let it keep us in bondage the rest of our life, or we can forgive them and keep living in God’s best blessings.
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” (Colossians 3:13, KJV).
You may have made the wrong choice and have hurt feelings about what this person has done to you. However, it is never too late to let it go and make the choice to forgive.
You cannot expect to receive God’s greatest and best blessings or your faith to work until you forgive and let go. Give it all to God. “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.” (Galatians 5:6 KJV). Do not pick up that load of anger, resentment, hurt, shame, guilt or whatever it may be that you have been struggling with.
It is not easy to forgive when someone has treated you badly or abused you in some way, but it is necessary. We have no choice if we want to fellowship with The Heavenly Father.
You do not have to suffer the rest of your life for past mistakes you have made or for other’s past mistakes. Guess what, your past does not have to be your future. God forgives and restores. Now You do the same!
Confession: I choose to forgive. I now let go of every grudge, hurt feeling, person or situation completely. I forgive by faith and by an act of my will and refuse to let my feelings influence me. I am free.
May God’s richest and best be yours,
Lanier Martin
